From Sorrento, take the blue bus from the main piazza to scenic Positano, then go down to the port and take the hydrofoil for a relatively short ride to beautiful Capri, and then back to Sorrento by hydrofoil.

If traveling from Naples, take the Circumvezuviana line from Napoli Centrale (main) train station past Pompeii, another wonderful DayTrip, to Sorrento, just a little over an hour away. Make sure you arrive at least 10-15 minutes early at the platform as the Circumvezuviana platforms are a short walk (and escalator ride) away from the main platforms.
